STROLL DOWN AN
EPECURIAN BOULEVARD AT NOVOTEL...
Tucked
away quietly at the southern side of Manama-Muharraq lagoon, the 172 room
and suite Novotel Al Dana Resort combines traditional Arabic architecture
with all the contemporary elements and trappings of an international
standard hotel of today, with the clear blue coastal waters of the
Arabian Gulf lapping at its shores.
Dramatic
dining with striking views and a menu of classics with touches of today’s
culinary sophistication is what Novotel Al Dana Resort is all about.
Executive
Chef Thierry VALLANCE and his kitchen brigade draw superlatives for their
divine and creative dishes, which are enhanced by equally breathtaking
presentations, while a sparkling beverage list complements these to
perfection.
Welcome
to a fine journey along an epicurean boulevard that is reminiscent of
typical French savoir faire and savoir vivre, bursting with flavours and
springing culinary surprises!
La Perle
Inspired
by treasures from the deep, La Perle, home of Neptune’s bounty, is the
grande mise en scene for a major gastronomic experience. Ritzy and
elegant with window-fronting tables overlooking the beach and azure
waters, plus an indoor fountain that fosters intimacy without obstructing
the voyeuristic joy of watching the extensive waterways surrounding the
restaurant, La Perle redefines culinary pleasures not only in Bahrain but
very much so, in the region!
Spreading
its net over the cool waters of the northern hemisphere to the warm
oceans of the Gulf, La Perle showcases a catch fresh from the fisherman’s
wharf, delicately and masterly prepared, respectful of each ingredient
used with an intrinsic attention to detail, that makes every meal simply
a stupendous heaven on earth!
The
menu reeks of unforgettable creations, infused with fresh herbs and
accentuated to bring out the natural flavours of each ingredient,
marrying them all with a je ne sais quoi type of finesse.
Executive
Chef Thierry VALLANCE’s passion for food and cooking is predicated on the
freshness, quality and the refinement of the dishes emerging from his
kitchen. From behind the stoves, grills and ovens, the kitchen brigade
creates stunning culinary masterpieces, each orchestrated under the
watchful eye and more often than not, the distinctive touch of our Maitre
des fourneaux from France.
His
creations feature an extensive variety of fresh fish, oysters and plenty
of shellfish and crustaceans, in a crescendo of epicurean flavours that
are consistently outstanding. From salads and soups, to entrees with
extraordinary trimmings to enhance the natural essence of seafood, each
creation on La Perle’s menu is a sublime presentation that coaxes diners
to ascend the steps to gustatory paradise.
And
just about when you think you’ve had your fill and are prepared to sink
into a heavenly post-dining slumber, Pastry Chef tempts even the most
diet-conscious diner with desserts that weaken even the strongest
resolve, making you go weak in the knees.
One
can’t go wrong with the sinful dark chocolate fudge with clusters of
toasted almonds, nor can you resist the medley of spring cherry grutze
and white chocolate on a vanilla crème brulee ~ each, quite simply to die
for! It is this blitz of flavours, aromas and visual delights exceeding
all expectations that makes La Perle a total dining experience.

Zytoun
From
the olive orchards and herb-scented hills of the Mediterranean and the
Middle East, Zytoun (Arabic word for olives) fires up the imagination! An
all-day dining restaurant splashed in brilliant hues, matched by warm,
earthy tones and rich mahogany timber finishing, Zytoun overlooks the
hotel’s magnificent sun-drenched poolside, making the views on the inside
and out as arresting as the selection on its buffet and menu.
In
typical culinary wonder, Zytoun features a culinary palette of colour,
texture and taste. Here, you will discover the best over-the-top breakfast,
featuring no less than 100 different items daily on its lavish spread!
Variety, as they say, is the spice of life ~ no where is this more
evident that on Novotel’s Le Grand Bonjour Breakfast Buffet at Zytoun!
As
the day wears on. Breakfast makes way for lunch and thence dinner. Before
you can even say “Bon Appetit”, symphonic buffets for each are laid out,
with a selection that tempts even the most jaded of taste buds, to leave
you genuinely breathless and totally spoilt for choice!
If
meat is not to your liking, Zytoun’s spread of vegetarian delights will
more than appeal! In fact, with an emphasis on using only the finest and
freshest produce available, Zytoun’s farm-fresh meat-free dishes find
their way as just as quickly onto the dinner plates of even the most
radical of meat-lovers!
At
the far-end of this delightful restaurant, a show kitchen including a
traditional pizza-oven glows and glistens with rich earthen and copper
ware. Freshly-baked breads and crispy, thin crust pizzas which are topped
with uninterrupted layers and layers of cheese, juicy ripe tomatoes, the
most aromatic herbs and mouthwatering toppings, send heavenly wafts into
the air as the presiding pizzaiolo masterly creates, lovingly bakes and
then intimately presents all-time classics and favourites.
It’s
not surprising that at Zytoun, one has to be prepared for a pleasant
headache of sorts, having to choose between the spread on the buffet, the
lively options at the action cooking stations and on the a la carte menu!
Just
as garlic, olives, tomatoes and nature’s abundance of the Mediterranean
are the leitmotif, at Zytoun you’ll discover that Arabic, Italian, North
African, Greek and Spanish flavours are the spirit. Whatever the taste,
whichever the preference, Zytoun’s menu is a compilation of the absolute
best ~ immaculately pure, fresh flavours that go well with a
comprehensive characteristic beverage list carefully created to balance
the vibrant taste of each dish.
Those
with a sweet-tooth and a penchant for desserts will be amazed by the
selection on offer at Zytoun. Whether it is something from the menu or
part of the spread on the buffet, Zytoun’s desserts can sometimes be a
real culinary challenge for the faint-hearted!
From
ripe and luscious fresh fruits and towering chocolate layer-cakes with
bittersweet-chocolate shavings clinging precariously to its sides, to
wholesome, luscious fruit tarts and sinful meringue pies…irresistible,
decadent temptations that urge you to throw caution to the wind for sweet
endings to each meal at Zytoun!

Bellevue, relaxed charm, push décor and a carefree musical spirit come
together to magically set the mood for easy afternoons that slide into
scintillating evenings! Again, this innovative presentation from Novotel
sets it truly apart from the norm, underlining the hotel’s undisputed
standing as a tour de force in dining and entertainment!
As
you walk up the grand marble staircase which leads you from the foyer of
La Perle, you ascend the spiral staircase within a circular column of
flowing water ~ that alone leaves you with a splendid air of relaxed
anticipation as you reach the upper level of the restaurant which is Le
Bellevue!
Before
you, a rich wooden parquet and stunning mosaic ensemble inter-twine on
the floor to form elegant petals of a fresh bloom, protruding from the
center of the lounge where you stand. The floor immediately brings to
mind a marriage of 2 distinctive styles : European and Arabic, with the
form of the petals somewhat resembling an Arabic mashrabia motif.
On
one side of this circular lounge, a long bar stylishly curves along, with
a backdrop of rich, bronze mosaic walls and minaret-style arches.
Wherever you choose to sit, be it at the bar or within the cozy environs
of the actual lounge, where comfortable, plush seats in off-white upholstery
are matched against finishings of toned wood, straw and jut, the stunning
view of the resort and the crystal clear sea unfolding before your very
eyes is simply mesmerizing!
Step
out onto the inviting wind-swept terrace which is separated from the
inside of the lounge and you can feel your own breath running out as you
stand totally amazed and consumed by the view, with the breeze gently
caressing your skin and the sudden realization that heaven does exist on
earth!
As
the sun sets on the horizon, slip into total surrender to the sounds the
sights and the scents of Le Bellevue. The enthralling sounds from South
America ease away the strains of the day, while a drink in hand and a
cigar in another, plus good company or even a book if you decide to go it
alone, clearly explains why Le Bellevue is where the movers and shakers
of society converge.
